Welcome to The Rec Room Lagos. Please read this policy document carefully before visiting or making a booking. By entering our premises, making a booking or permitting a child in your care to participate in any activity at The Rec Room Lagos, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by all terms and conditions set out herein. This Policy applies to all visitors, parents, guardians, caregivers and guests.
Monday: Closed (except public holidays)
Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
*The Rec Room Lagos is CLOSED every Monday; No sessions, bookings or visits are available on Mondays (except on public holidays).
Last entry is strictly 45 minutes before closing time. We reserve the right to modify our operating hours on public holidays, special event days or due to unforeseen circumstances. Any changes will be communicated via our official social media channels and website with a minimum of 24 hours' notice where possible.
To ensure the safety, comfort and quality of experience for all visitors, the following capacity limits are strictly enforced at all times:
• Indoor Play Area: Maximum of 30 (Thirty) people including parents, guardians, carers and accompanying adults at any time.
• Outdoor Garden Area: Maximum of 150 (One Hundred and Fifty) people at any time, inclusive of all vendors, parents, guardians, carers and accompanying adults.
Management reserves the right to refuse entry or request that visitors wait until capacity reduces. Capacity limits are non-negotiable and are enforced for safety and licensing compliance. Exceeding these limits will not be permitted under any circumstances, including during private bookings and events.
The Rec Room Lagos is designed primarily for children aged 1 to 12 years. Play structures and
equipment are specifically safety-rated for this age group. Parents and guardians are responsible for
assessing whether specific activities and equipment are appropriate for their child's size, age and
developmental stage.
Children under 3 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian within the play area at
all times. Children aged 3 and above may play independently within the supervised indoor area,
provided a parent or guardian remains on the premises throughout the entire visit.
4.1 General Sessions
Walk-in visits are accepted subject to availability and capacity limits. Advance booking is strongly
recommended, particularly for weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods. Bookings may
be made via our official website, WhatsApp booking line, or in person at the facility.
4.2 Group Bookings
Groups of 6 or more children require a confirmed advance booking at least 72 hours prior to the visit.
A deposit of 50% of the total booking value is required to confirm all group bookings. Group bookings
are subject to availability and capacity.
4.3 Event & Party Reservations
Birthday parties, private events and exclusive hire bookings must be made a minimum of 14 (Fourteen)
days in advance. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total package price is required at the time
of booking to secure the reservation. The remaining balance is due no later than 5 (five) business days
before the event date. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in forfeiture of the
reservation and the deposit paid.
The Rec Room Lagos reserves the right to cancel a booking in the event of force majeure or
circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, a full refund or rescheduling option will
be offered.
4.4 School & Institutional Bookings
Schools, nurseries and other institutions wishing to book for field trips or group visits must submit a formal
booking request with full details including the number of children, age groups and any special
requirements. An official invoice and booking confirmation will be issued.
IMPORTANT: The Rec Room Lagos operates a strictly CASHLESS payment policy. Cash payments
are NOT accepted under any circumstances.
All payments must be made via the following accepted methods:
• Bank transfer (account details provided upon booking).
• Point of Sale (POS) card payment on-site.
• Approved mobile payment platforms as notified by management.
All prices are including applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change. The
price confirmed at the time of booking will be honoured for that booking.
6.1 Cancellations by the Guest
The following cancellation policy applies to all general and group bookings:
• More than 72 hours before the session: Full refund or credit note issued.
• Between 24 and 72 hours before the session: 50% refund or full credit note valid for 30 days.
• Less than 24 hours before the session: No refund. A discretionary credit note valid for 30 days may be issued.
• Refunds will only be made to the original payment method.
• Event/party bookings: The 50% deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances. The remaining balance, if paid, is refundable if cancellation is made more than 7 days before the event.
6.2 Rescheduling
Rescheduling requests must be submitted no less than 24 hours before the original booking time. One
complimentary reschedule is permitted per booking. Subsequent reschedule requests may be subject
to an administrative fee.
6.3 Late Arrivals for Reserved and Paid Sessions
*Sessions run on a fixed-time schedule. Late arrivals will not receive an extension of their booked
session time.
Guests who arrive late for a reserved and paid session will only be entitled to the remaining portion of
their booked time slot. No refund, compensation or extension will be provided for time lost due to late
arrival, regardless of the circumstances of the delay.
6.4 Missed Sessions (No-Shows)
Guests who fail to attend a booked and paid session without prior notification are considered a noshow and will forfeit the full session fee. No refund or credit note will be issued for no-shows.
6.5 Refund Processing
All approved refunds will be processed within 5 to 7 business days and returned to the original payment
method. Refunds will not be disbursed in cash under any circumstances.
A parent, legal guardian or responsible adult caregiver must accompany all children and must remain
on the premises at all times throughout the duration of the visit. The Rec Room Lagos staff are not
responsible for the direct supervision of individual children. Our staff provide facilitated play support,
safety monitoring and general oversight of the environment; they are not childminders or individual
caregivers.
*Children may NOT be left unattended on the premises at any time. Adults who leave without
their child will be required to return immediately upon notification by staff.
• Children under 3 years must have a parent or guardian present within the play area at all times.
• All adults are responsible for the behaviour and wellbeing of the children in their care
throughout the visit.
• Adults must remain alert and responsive to the needs of their children at all times while on the
premises.
*ALL children AND adults entering the indoor play area MUST wear socks at all times. This is a
mandatory hygiene and safety requirement with no exceptions.
For hygiene and safety reasons, bare feet are not permitted inside the indoor play area under any
circumstances. This rule applies to:
• All children entering the indoor play area, regardless of age.
• All parents, guardians and caregivers who enter the indoor play area.
• All staff members within the indoor play area.
Socks are available for purchase at reception should guests arrive without them. Guests who refuse to
comply with the sock policy will not be permitted to enter or remain in the indoor play area. No refunds
will be issued for refusal to comply with this mandatory policy.
9.1 No Food or Beverages in the Indoor Play Area
*Food and beverages of any kind are strictly PROHIBITED inside the indoor play area. This applies
without exception for hygiene, allergy safety and equipment preservation.
All food and beverages must be consumed in the designated outdoor garden area (picnic style) or
seating areas only. No exceptions will be made.
9.2 Outside Food & Beverages
Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages onto the premises; however, all food and
drinks must be consumed exclusively in the outdoor garden area. Food and beverages are not
permitted in the indoor seating or indoor play areas under any circumstances.
9.3 Prohibited Items
*The use of Styrofoam (polystyrene) packaging of any kind is STRICTLY PROHIBITED on the entire
premises of The Rec Room Lagos for environmental and cleanliness reasons.
The following items are also prohibited on the premises:
• Alcoholic beverages (unless pre-approved in writing for a private event booking and only in
the outdoor garden - an additional fee for special cleaning will be required).
• Any items in Styrofoam or polystyrene packaging - guests must decant food into alternative
containers prior to arrival.
Management reserves the right to request the removal of any food items, packaging or beverages
deemed to be in breach of this policy.
*The Rec Room Lagos is a STRICTLY NON-SMOKING and NON-VAPING premises. This applies to
the entire property without exception.
Smoking, vaping, and the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or similar devices in any form are
strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises, including:
• The indoor play room area.
• The indoor reception and seating area.
• The outdoor garden and seating area.
• The cafe.
• All entry and exit points of the property, including the back and sides of the building.
Any visitor found smoking, vaping or using any electronic smoking device on our premises will be asked
to leave immediately. No refunds will be issued in such cases. This policy exists for the health and
wellbeing of all our guests, particularly our children.
11.1 Health Declaration
By entering The Rec Room Lagos, the accompanying adult confirms and declares on behalf of
themselves and all children in their care that:
• The child(ren) are in good health and are not currently displaying any symptoms of illness.
• The child(ren) have not been in close contact with a person diagnosed with a communicable
illness within the past 14 days.
• The child(ren) are physically fit and well enough to participate in active play.
11.2 Unwell Children Are Not Permitted to Play
*Children who are unwell are NOT permitted to enter or play at The Rec Room Lagos under any
circumstances. This policy is non-negotiable and is in place to protect all children and families
on our premises.
Children displaying any of the following symptoms must not be brought to The Rec Room Lagos:
• Fever or elevated body temperature.
• Cough, cold or runny nose.
• Vomiting or diarrhoea.
• Unexplained rash or skin conditions.
• Conjunctivitis (pink eye).
• Any other contagious or communicable illness or condition.
If a child becomes unwell during a visit, the accompanying adult will be required to remove the child
from the play area and the premises as soon as possible. Management reserves the right to refuse
entry to any child who appears to be unwell, regardless of any advance booking or payment made.
In such cases, a credit note may be issued at management's discretion. No cash refunds will be
provided.
The Rec Room Lagos is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all
visitors. All guests, including adults are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful,
courteous and considerate of others.
12.1 Children Conduct
• Rough play, pushing, hitting, biting, kicking or any behaviour that endangers other children is
strictly not permitted.
• Children must use equipment as intended and in accordance with any instructions given by
staff.
• Deliberate misuse or damage of equipment will result in removal from the play area.
12.2 Adult Conduct
• Aggressive, abusive, threatening or disrespectful behaviour towards our staff or other guests
will result in immediate removal from the premises.
• Adults are expected to actively manage the behaviour of children in their care at all times.
• The use of mobile phones or devices for photography in a manner that captures other children
without the express consent of their parents is strictly prohibited.
Management reserves the right to remove any person from the premises whose conduct is deemed
inappropriate, disruptive or harmful. No refunds will be issued in cases of removal due to conduct
violations.
While The Rec Room Lagos maintains trained play facilitators and safety monitors on-site at all times
during operating hours, it is important to understand the scope of our in-house supervision:
• Staff provide general play facilitation, environmental safety oversight and first-response
support in the event of an incident.
• Staff are not responsible for individually supervising, disciplining or providing personal care for
any specific child.
• The primary responsibility for the safety, wellbeing and behaviour of each child rests entirely
with the accompanying parent, guardian or caregiver.
• Our staffing levels are designed to maintain a safe play environment but do not substitute for
direct parental or guardian supervision.
The Rec Room Lagos accepts no responsibility for any personal belongings, clothing, accessories or
valuables that are lost, stolen or damaged on our premises. Guests are strongly advised not to bring
valuable items onto the premises.
Found items will be held at reception for a period of 14 (Fourteen) calendar days from the date of
discovery. Items not claimed within this period will be donated to a designated charity or disposed of
at the discretion of management. To enquire about a lost item, please contact us via our official
channels with a description of the item and the date of your visit.
*CCTV footage may be reviewed for security and safety purposes but cannot be shared with
third parties without a formal legal request through the appropriate authority.
Parents, guardians and caregivers are financially liable for any damage caused to The Rec Room
Lagos equipment, facilities, furnishings or property by a child in their care or by themselves during their
visit. The cost of repair or replacement of any damaged item will be assessed by management and
charged to the responsible party accordingly. Documentation and an itemised cost summary will be
provided.
Damage resulting from fair wear and tear or from a pre-existing fault in our equipment will not be
charged to guests. If you observe any damaged or unsafe equipment, please notify a staff member
immediately.
All toys, play equipment, books, furniture, fixtures and materials within The Rec Room Lagos are the
property of The Rec Room Lagos and may not be removed from the premises under any
circumstances. Removal or attempted removal of any items will be treated as theft. Management
reserves the right to recover items, charge full replacement value plus administrative costs, and involve
the appropriate authorities where necessary. Bags and strollers may be inspected on exit as part of
our safeguarding procedures.
By entering the premises of The Rec Room Lagos and/or making a booking, you, as the parent,
guardian, or responsible adult caregiver, voluntarily agree to the following:
• You acknowledge that physical play activities carry an inherent risk of injury, including but not
limited to bruises, cuts, sprains, fractures and other physical injuries.
• You accept full responsibility for assessing the suitability of all activities and equipment for the
child(ren) in your care.
• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release and discharge The Rec Room
Lagos, its owners, directors, employees, agents and contractors from any and all claims,
demands, damages, losses, costs and liabilities arising from or connected with your visit, except
where such claims arise from proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct directly attributable
to The Rec Room Lagos.
• You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Rec Room Lagos against any claim, loss, or
expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of this Policy or the conduct
of the child(ren) in your care during your visit.
*Nothing in this Policy shall exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or
limited under applicable Nigerian law.
By bringing a child to The Rec Room Lagos and/or permitting them to participate in any activity on
our premises, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
• You are aware that play activities, including climbing, jumping, sliding, running and interactive
physical play, carry an inherent risk of physical injury.
• You voluntarily assume all risks associated with the use of our facilities and participation in all
activities offered.
• You have had the opportunity to inspect the equipment and facilities and found them
satisfactory, or have elected to visit without such inspection.
• You are responsible for ensuring the child(ren) in your care are physically and medically
capable of participating in the play activities available.
• You will immediately inform a member of staff of any medical conditions, allergies, physical
limitations, or special needs that may affect the safety or participation of a child in your care.
Guests are permitted to take photographs and videos of their own children for personal use. We kindly request that you exercise care not to capture images of other children or families without their express consent. The Rec Room Lagos staff may occasionally capture photographs or video footage of the play environment and events for marketing, social media and promotional purposes. If you do not wish your child to appear in any such materials, please inform a staff member upon arrival and we will make every reasonable effort to respect your preference.
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
If any provision of this Policy is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be deemed severed from this Policy and shall not affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect.
The Rec Room Lagos reserves the right to amend, update, or modify this Policy at any time. The current and binding version of this Policy will be available on site and published on our official website and social media channels. Continued use of our facilities following any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
